FROM YOUR HANDS TO THIERS…
A SMOOTH HOME TRANSITION
We know that selling a home is more than a transaction — it’s a big life moment, often filled with mixed emotions, big changes, and lots of boxes. As part of our commitment to making this transition as smooth as possible, we’re here to support you right to the finish line — and beyond.
To help you with the final steps of preparing your home for its new owners, we’ve created this quick guide. Think of it as a little checklist to make sure everything is wrapped up with care — and without stress.
What to Leave Behind
A few thoughtful details can make a big difference for the next homeowners. Before you leave, please place the following on the kitchen counter:
All keys, including mailbox keys.
Mailbox location and box number.
Manuals, warranties, or instructions for appliances and systems.
Security system codes or instructions for keyless door locks.
Garage door openers and/or fobs.
Any of the original paint cans left over or flooring materials in case the new buyers want to match it in the future!
Complimentary Cleaning Services
Once your packing + moving is complete, we’re happy to provide complimentary move-out cleaning to get your home ready for the next chapter. This includes a professional move-out clean with special attention to the details such as floors & counters, windows, baseboards, bathrooms, kitchen appliances and blinds.
To make the cleaning process most effective, we ask that you take care of the following before our cleaning crew arrives:
As you empty cupboards and drawers, give them a quick vacuum and wipe down.
Vacuum or wipe up any spills or dried-on food in the fridge and freezer drawers.
Run a self-clean cycle on the oven (minimum 3 hours).
Run a clean or deodorizing cycle on the washing machine and dishwasher.
Sweep or vacuum the garage.
Don’t Forget Before You Go
As you finish packing up, here are a few last tasks to wrap things up smoothly:
As you’re taking down artwork or photos, fill the nail holes and paint over them if you have any of the original paint colour leftover.
Schedule cancellation or transfer of utilities and services such as internet, insurance, electricity, gas, water, security systems, landscaping services. A helpful tip would be to schedule these changes for the day after possession, just in case.
Set up mail forwarding and update your address with your bank/credit cards, driver’s license and vehicle registration, healthcare providers, subscriptions and delivery services.
If your home includes any smart systems (like a thermostat, security system, or garage opener), remove the devices from your apps/accounts and perform a factory reset (if possible).
